Winless Run Goes On At Worsbrough

An error-strewn first half by Ollerton Town found them 4-0 down away to Worsbrough Bridge and the mountain they faced in the second period ultimately proved to be too much as they lost 5-2 to make it four league games without a win.
Ollerton started fairly well but were 1-0 down in the 16th minute as Shaun Mundy crossed for Sam Corner to finish past James Leverton.
It was almost 1-1 as Sean Dickinson played through Gav King but the prolific forward was denied by Josh Diggles in the Worsbrough goal.
In the 23rd minute, Corner and Worsbrough got their second as the hosts exploited some slack defending from Ollerton whilst at the other end, Diggles had to be at his best to deny Dickinson.
Things went from bad to worse for Ollerton as Mundy added a third in the 38th minute, tapping home the rebound after a Leverton save before Corner completed a first half hat-trick in the 43rd minute as Ollerton were caught out once again.
It appeared to be game over as the two teams went in for half time but moments after the restart, Ollerton pulled a goal back as Gav King got his 30th goal of the season after firing home a penalty.
Twenty minutes later, Ollerton were awarded another spot kick and once again the NCEL Division One's top 'scorer converted past Diggles to keep hopes of an unbelievable comeback alive.
However, Ollerton's new found belief was snuffed out in the 75th minute as Mundy added his second to seal the victory for Worsbrough with Ollerton leaving themselves too much to do in the opening forty-five.
