Lewis Bingham scored twice as Ollerton defeated East Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday

Two goals by Lewis Bingham helped Ollerton to a big three points against East Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday in what was an important game at the bottom end of the table.
It was 17th v 18th going into it with both sides looking for a win that would give them some daylight on the two relegation places. In the end, it was Ollerton who moved up to 15th place as Bingham's two efforts, either side of a customary goal for star striker Gav King, gave the Town victory after being 2-1 down at the interval.
Though it was a warm February afternoon down at The FastFrame, there was a strong wind blowing across the pitch which affected the opening stages of the game.
The visitors arguably started the stronger of the two sides with pair Josh Walker and Danny Walker both spurning inviting opportunities inside the first ten minutes.
Walker would make amends in the 21st minute however as he put Carnegie ahead, racing onto a ball over the top of the Ollerton defence before finishing neatly into the bottom corner past the dive of James Leverton.
Their lead would only last six minutes as Ollerton and Bingham got their first of the afternoon. A neat ball down the left put Bingham clear inside the area and he expertly found the far corner with a terrific lofted finish past 'keeper David Robson.
Five minutes later and Ollerton almost went ahead. Lewis Price charged into the box and played the ball across, causing a desperate scramble which almost ended in Gav King turning the ball home from close range.
As it was, it was Carnegie who went into half time with their noses in front. Myles Lawman capitalised on the windy conditions by whipping a corner kick straight over the head of Leverton and into the far corner to put his side back ahead.
Once again though Ollerton fought back and were level in the 50th minute. Powerful midfielder Price drilled a ball into the feet of King on the edge of the area and the league's top marksman charged into space before arrowing a shot into the far corner.
That would be how it remained until the 85th minute when Ollerton got their decisive goal. Reece Conroy's free kick into the area was headed into the path of Bingham by King and the diminutive forward cut inside before firing home and giving his side a crucial victory.
