A really tough one today. We played Mansfield in Pre-Season and knew already how good of a side they were. I think this got into the players heads a bit.

A mixture of variables today made us look a worse team than we are. They had some individually very good players, and were able to pass the ball around really well. Where as we were slow to close down, never stringing more than 3 passes together, and letting them past to easily.

It’s the first loss of the season for us and shows we still have a long way to go if we want to be competing at the top levels in Nottinghamshire.

There were some standout performances today though, Maya Chambers has a strong game, adopting into a position she’s not used to in order to help her team. And Daisy Rowley was exceptional. Making tackles, making runs, getting crosses in, and causing the opposition difficulty at every step.

Onto this week training where we look to re-motivate and re-align as we have one game left before the half term break.
