Richard Hannigan has left his post at Ollerton Town to take up the role of Dunkirk manager, the club can announce.

We thank him for his efforts at the club during his short spell in charge, and for his full transparency and honesty over the past week.

We appreciate those on the outside, may question or criticise, but as a club we are steadfast in our belief that at that time we made the best decision we could, choosing the best candidate available, despite being aware of the difficulties Rich would face if our application for lateral movement to the United Counties League was unsuccessful.

Though the club is appealing the FA's decision, due to the factors much greater than simply choice of manager, Richard was presented with another opportunity he wished to take. Given the uncertainty, it was decided to be in the best interest of all parties to end that uncertainty and agree to a mutual parting of the ways.

Whilst we are obviously disappointed at Richard's departure, we wish him the very best for the future.

We are already close to finalising a successor, and hope to have an announcement in the next 48 hours.

Though this is another bump in the road for the club, we believe we are still on the right path and heading towards the stability we are seeking after a turbulent few months.
