A depleted Ollerton Town side were beaten 6-1 by Yorkshire Amateur on Tuesday

Ollerton Town were heavily beaten on Tuesday night as promotion hopefuls Yorkshire Amateur showed their quality against an out of sorts Town side.
Ollerton started the game in a new look 4-5-1 formation and had a clear chance to take the lead early on as Eden Homer’s defence splitting pass set Tristan Burrell through on goal but the striker blazed the early chance over the bar.
The opening stages of the game were relatively end to end but it was Ollerton who threatened to break the deadlock again as Mark Bullock played a delightful through ball towards Gav King, but he couldn’t add to his impressive tally so far this season as Bojang in the Yorkshire Amateur goal pushed King’s effort just wide.
The league’s top scorers had failed to threaten the Ollerton goal in the opening quarter of an hour but didn’t need more than one invitation as an incisive counter attack from an Ollerton corner was finished off with Callum Charlton slipping in Ashley Flynn who fired across goal to give Yorkshire Amateur the early lead.
Flynn’s opener was discouraging after a positive start from Dave Winter’s men but it didn’t take long for Ollerton to strike back as Liam Cooper pulled Ollerton level within minutes of Flynn’s opener. Lewis Bingham whipped in a ball from the right sided free kick and Cooper powerfully headed past Bojang for a deserved Ollerton equaliser.
Both sides had looked offensively dangerous throughout the half but the visitors were punished by a long ball forward which was flicked forward towards Fernando Moke and the winger classily lobbed the ball over the onrushing Luke Pickering to restore Yorkshire Amateur’s lead.
Ollerton looked set to go in to half time with just a one goal deficit but another clinical counter attack which was finished off by Flynn gave Yorkshire Amateur a two goal advantage on the stroke of half time.
Despite the score line, the first half was a very competitive affair, but Yorkshire Amateur showed their class throughout the second half and had already killed of the game by the 49th minute as Moke netted his second of the game as he pounced upon a loose ball before firing past stand-in goalkeeper Pickering.
Ollerton struggled to deal with the pace throughout the Yorkshire Amateur frontline throughout the half and it went from bad to worse for the visitors as Flynn completed his hat-trick to give Yorkshire Amateur a four goal lead. Charlton found himself through on goal but unselfishly squared the ball to Flynn who completed his hat-trick to net his 37th goal of the season.
Ollerton had the chance to get one back as Cooper’s direct ball over the top of the Yorkshire Amateur defence was received by King but the normally clinical striker struck his effort straight at Bojang.
Yorkshire Amateur continued to push forward in spite of their hefty lead and should’ve scored a sixth as Charlton cut the ball back to Tianni on the edge of the box but he placed his shot just wide of the post. Tianni then did make it six as he curled a sensational effort into the top right corner to finish of an exceptional half from Yorkshire Amateur.
Ollerton had been thoroughly outplayed throughout the second half but were slightly unfortunate to not have scored a second as King had the ball in the net, but the play was pulled back due to the free kick being taken too quickly.
