Ollerton secured the points in a tough game against Brodsworth Welfare

Ollerton Town moved up to third in the Central Midlands North Division table after a hard fought, 1-0 victory against Brodsworth Welfare on Tuesday night.
Dave Winter's side created several good, goal-scoring chances but they could only convert the one with Kyle Ludlow's goal early into the second half proving to be the winner. Ollerton 'keeper Simon Smith was never really tested but Brodsworth still made Ollerton work for their victory, never giving in.
The games first meaningful chance fell for Ollerton as Kyle Clarkson, played through by Danny Wiltshire, saw his low shot saved well by Josh Diggles.
The visitors then grew into the game and Brad Heaps had two chances to put Brodsworth ahead. He first went through before seeing the opportunity easily smothered by Smith then later a spilt cross by Smith struck Heaps who knew nothing about it and had to watch as the ball rolled harmlessly wide of the goal.
Lewis Bingham was his usual lively self all game and he managed to work a good opportunity for Ollerton, cutting in from the left hand side before seeing a well struck shot saved by Diggles.
Bingham then went through on goal before taking a tumble in the area whilst being chased down by a Brodsworth defender. Ollerton's appeals for a penalty fell on deaf ears as the referee and his two assistants saw nothing in the incident.
That was all the first half had to offer in terms of attacking opportunities with nothing separating the two teams as they headed into the interval.
The start of the second period was completely different story however as Ollerton started brilliantly. After a Brodsworth defender failed to clear his lines, the ball fell kindly for Bingham but he could only lash over the bar.
Two minutes later and Ollerton had another great chance. Clarkson delivered a free-kick from the right and he found Ludlow at the near post but the Ollerton striker failed to keep his volley down.
It was one-way traffic in the early stages of the second half and Ollerton managed to make their pressure count by finally taking the lead. Wiltshire did brilliantly to beat his man in the area and his shot was deflected out to Ludlow who was on hand to emphatically fire the rebound into the roof of the net.
Ludlow nearly added a second just after the hour mark. Diggles spilt Bingham's shot and with Ludlow waiting to turn the ball home, the Brodsworth 'keeper stuck out a desperate hand and managed to poke the ball away.
With Ollerton only leading by one, Brodsworth knew that they only needed one chance to get back into game. They nearly drew the scores level but a free-kick was deflected wide off the wall before Luke Flanagan fired over a good chance after the ball fell to him in the area.
As the game entered it's final few hours, Ludlow nearly secured the three points for Ollerton. A brilliant cross by Tom Cooke arrived deep at the far post and Ludlow's half volley flew wide of the upright with Diggles left stranded.
Ollerton brought on two late subs in an attempt to wind down the clock but Brodsworth kept testing the home side and nearly equalised with the last kick of the game. A testing corner dropped in the area but thankfully an Ollerton defender was on hand to boot the ball clear.
That proved to be that as the referee blew the full time whistle to give Ollerton their fourth win in a row. Brodsworth showed during the game why they have picked up some impressive results of late but Ollerton will be delighted that they did enough to secure a hugely important and deserved three points.
