6 goals by Kyle Ludlow helped Ollerton to another 12-0 win over Welbeck

They say that lightening never strikes twice but Ollerton Town may have something to say about that as they beat Welbeck Welfare 12-0 for the second time in four days.
After an extremely comprehensive victory away at Welbeck on Saturday, Ollerton welcomed them to The Lane on Tuesday and would have understandably been in a confident mood.
As they did on Saturday, Ollerton went into the half time break 3-0 up before scoring another nine in the second half with Sam Dockwray adding the twelfth in another similarity to Saturday’s game.
The highlight of the night was with out question the performance of Ollerton striker Kyle Ludlow who helped himself to six goals on the night to move onto sixteen goals for the season and move ahead of Kyle Clarkson in the race to be Ollerton’s top goalscorer.
Despite his goal-scoring feats against Welbeck-grabbing a hat-trick on Saturday too- Ludlow isn’t the most prolific scorer in the league but he’s certainly one of, if not the, best centre forward’s in the division with his aerial ability, hold-up play and work ethic all second to none.
Someone who Ludlow has formed a good understanding with on the pitch is Lewis Bingham and it was Bingham who opened the scoring after a patient start by Ollerton, tapping in on the rebound.
Before the interval, Ludlow got his first of the night whilst Jamie Charlton found the back of the net with a nice finish off the post.
It didn’t take long into the second half for Ludlow to get his hat-trick to put Ollerton 5-0 ahead before Clarkson made it 6-0 from the spot after he was fouled in the area.
Ludlow then scored two terrific headers to make it 8-0 before grabbing his sixth after reacting quickest after Bingham’s chipped effort had been tipped onto the post.
Sam Stretton grabbed himself a rare goal in the fixture on Saturday and he was dying to get in on the action last night and managed to do so. His shot from the edge of the area deflected off the leg of a Welbeck defender and looped over Sipson and into the back of the net to make it 10-0. Whether it was Stretton’s goal or an own goal was up to interpretation but there was no doubting that Stretton was the scorer of Ollerton’s eleventh, finishing well from inside the area.
Sam Dockwray has impressed since arriving from Rainworth and not only did he help control play from midfield but he also grabbed himself a goal, tapping in from close range.
Ollerton Manager Dave Winter was pushing his side on to get the thirteenth goal needed to beat Saturday’s score but they were denied by the woodwork on several occasions, with one particular effort being a thirty-yard free-kick by Clarkson which had the ‘keeper stranded.
Despite the win for Ollerton and the goal-scoring feat of Ludlow, credit must also go to Welbeck who continue to fight on in the Central Midlands Football League when others would easily throw the towel in.
Ollerton now move on to Saturday's game against Askern which sees the start of an important and tough run of games for the team which includes a League Cup semi-final versus Blidworth.
