A hat-trick by Kyle Ludlow and a Kyle Clarkson brace saw off Newark Town

Ollerton's two Kyle's kept up their personal battle to see who will end the season as Ollerton's top goalscorer at the expense of Newark Town on Saturday afternoon. Kyle Ludlow took his tally to 19 with a first half hat-trick before Kyle Clarkson scored two in the second half to move him onto 20, the first Ollerton player to do so since Lee Wilson in the 2008/2009 season.
More importantly for Ollerton however was the fact that the 5-0 victory secured a vital three points as The Town continue to keep up their push for promotion in the latter stages of the Central Midlands Football League season.
Manager Dave Winter selected the same eleven as last week's 4-2 victory over Dronfield Town Reserves and after a tense opening twenty minutes, Ollerton scored two in quick succession to take control of the game.
Setting the tone for the rest of the afternoon, Clarkson and Ludlow were thorns in Newark's side. Clarkson did brilliantly to beat his man before pulling the ball back across the face of goal where Ludlow was waiting to tap the ball home.
Three minutes later and Ollerton had doubled their lead. Lewis Bingham's out-swinging corner was met by Ludlow and he thumped a header into the back of the net.
Newark didn't give in however and could have scored two goals of their own. The Newark 11 went through one-on-one twice, he first saw his shot tipped brilliantly onto the post by Simon Smith before his second effort had the beating of Smith but was hacked off the line by Tom Cooke.
With five minutes to go until the break, Ollerton were presented with a chance to kill the game as the referee awarded them a penalty for a foul on Wiltshire. Clarkson stepped up but saw his effort saved well yet the Newark 'keeper could do nothing about Ludlow smashing in the rebound to complete his perfect hat-trick.
The torrential rain and hail which had plagued the first half thankfully stopped during the second period but for Ollerton, the goals continued and this time it would be Clarkson who got in on the action.
Just after the hour mark, Clarkson got his first after dribbling through the Newark defence before rolling the ball into the goal with a calm finish.
Clarkson and Ollerton's final goal came in the closing moments of the game as the Ollerton midfielder latched on to a pass to score a similar effort as his first from the right of the area.
