Kye Pilmore scored a 94th minute equaliser to give Ollerton a 1-1 draw v Harworth

Ollerton made it a win, a draw and a loss from their first three games of the new season as Kye Pilmore struck a last gasp equaliser to give the Town a deserved point against Harworth on Tuesday night.
Ollerton's top goalscorer from last season is only back at The Lane to help the team out short-term yet he proved to be the hero as he came off the bench to flick the ball home from close range with what proved to be the last meaningful kick of the game.
Both teams had created plenty of chances throughout the game and in truth, both should have probably scored more than just a solitary goal. Ollerton’s Jamie Charlton and Harworth’s Josh Dickinson both saw early headers go wide as the two teams tried to get into the swing of things.
In truth, Harworth probably had the better of the first chances and had a great chance to score when Tommy Durrant was put through one-on-one, only for Simon Smith to be equal to his shot before Shane Carver smashed the rebound over the bar.
Callum Atkinson and Tom Cooke both had long ranged efforts for Ollerton which flew just too high to hit the target but with the last attack of the first half, the home side should have taken the lead. A freekick into the area from the left found Matthew Thompson at the far post and his shot was smothered by Harworth ‘keeper Zack Levers, only for the ball to run to Jamie Charlton who failed to get enough contact on the ball to force it home.
Dave Winter and his assistant Steve Bodle must have certainly made their point known at half time as Ollerton started the second half much brighter and soon began to gather some serious momentum.
Atkinson was played through by Jamie Tryner but saw his shot skew wide after hitting a bobble, Charlton saw a shot cleared after rounding Levers whilst Paul Burgess headed over a Gary Armstrong cross.
With Ollerton on top but unable to make the most of it, and knowing the cruelty of the footballing gods, a Harworth goal did seem inevitable and just after the hour mark, it arrived. Ollerton were unable to alleviate the Harworth pressure and eventually the ball was played across the area where Lewis Francis was on hand to smash past Smith and give Harworth the lead.
Smith was on hand to save well from Lee Warriner, preventing Harworth from doubling their lead and it was then Ollerton’s turn to pile on the pressure.
With not much time left on the clock, Ollerton came agonisingly close to levelling. After Harworth’s defence were unable to deal with a long ball, Pilmore was able to bring it down in the area before flicking it back to Charlton. The Ollerton-born lad must have thought he scored as he slid the ball under the ‘keeper, yet an outstretched leg of a Harworth defender cleared the ball off the line, on to the post and somehow it deflected to safety.
Ollerton must have thought their luck was out yet in the dying embers of added on time, they finally levelled. A cross from the right found Armstrong at the far post, his shot across goal fell kindly into the path of Pilmore and he was on hand to flick the ball into the corner of the goal to cue celebrations from Ollerton whilst Harworth were left heartbroken after letting their lead slip at the final hurdle.
After Saturday’s defeat to Glapwell, Ollerton will have been hoping to bounce back with a win but against a tough Harworth side who will no doubt be up there come the end of the season, and given the circumstances, they will no doubt take a draw as they go into a two week fixture break before their FA Vase tie against St. Andrews on September 5th.

#STAT: The last 3 league fixtures between Ollerton and Harworth at The Lane have all ended 1-1.
