Defeat in Final Friendly for Ollerton

Ollerton Town's preseason ended how it began, with a defeat at the hands of a Central Midlands North side. This time, it was Collingham who secured the victory after a late goal secured their comeback from 1-0 down.
With the start of the new season just around the corner, Ollerton used their final pre-season friendly to try out a few different systems before things get the serious and with these changes as well as around a dozen substitutions, Ollerton failed to get into any real rhythm and were punished by goals late in each half.
Both sides had early chances, Lewis Bingham, Chris Hewitt and Gavin King all testing the Collingham stopper for Ollerton. And it was the visitors who took the lead midway through the first half, Lewis Bingham received the ball on the edge of the area and he spun his man before slipping through Sean Dickinson who advanced into the box and slotted home.
Ollerton failed to build on this lead and in the final moments of the half, Collingham drew level thanks to a placed finished from just outside the area.
The second half was a scrappy affair and won't live long in the memory of those in attendance. Once again both sides had a handful of chances between them but it was Collingham who secured the win, a low drive from twenty yards out finding the bottom corner in the last attack of the game.
For Ollerton, it will have been disappointing to see their recent good run of form in pre-season come to an end but now that pre-season is over, all previous results and performances count for nothing and all focus is now on Saturday's league opener at home to Dronfield Town, with Ollerton looking to get off to a winning start.
