Ollerton edged out Burton Joyce 3-2 on Wednesday to make it 4 pre-season wins in a row

Three goals in the first half were enough for Ollerton to see off Burton Joyce in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
Ollerton fell behind early on but managed to turn it around and take a 3-1 lead. A Burton Joyce goal in the second half reduced the deficit but Ollerton could have, and probably should have, scored a few more goals and secured a more comfortable scoreline.
Ollerton started the game brightly with Sam Bailey coming close. Gary Armstrong played him through yet unfortunately Bailey's shot was fired a few inches wide.
Shortly afterwards, Burton took the lead. A corner from the right managed to find it's way across to the far post and a Burton played was on hand to head past Simon Smith.
Burton's lead didn't last long however as Ollerton's front three combined. Charlton played a ball through for Bailey who saw his shot saved however when the ball was parried out, Chris Hewitt was on hand to slide the ball through the legs of the Burton defender on the line.
It was Jamie Charlton and Sam Bailey who combined once more to put Ollerton ahead. Charlton brought the ball down well on the right wing before delivering a cross to Bailey who had the time and space to place the ball past the 'keeper and into the back of the net.
Ollerton's third came shortly before half time and this time it was Charlton, meaning all of Ollerton's front three had got themselves on the scoresheet. He kept up his fine goal-scoring form in pre-season by finishing well from inside the area to put Ollerton in a comfortable position at the break.
In the second half, Ollerton really should have built on and extended their lead but despite their best efforts they failed to add another goal. Kyle Clarkson spun a Burton Joyce defender but after going through, he could only fire wide. Jamie Tryner then had two good chances but first he saw a defender squeeze out the chance before secondly he failed to get enough contact to a Lewis Bingham pass to test the Burton 'keeper.
Lewis Bingham was next to test Burton. He was picked out by Clarkson at the far post but after bringing the ball down well, the Burton 'keeper was quick off his line to smother the chance before Bingham could poke home. Bingham then nearly turned provider, breaking clear and looking to play the square ball to Charlton who was waiting to tap home, however the pass was just too far ahead of his fellow striker and the chance was gone.
Ollerton were then punished for missing their chances as Burton got a goal back from another corner. Simon Smith was alert to make an impressive one handed save yet from the resulting corner, Burton headed in at the far post to reduce Ollerton's lead to a mere goal.
However, that lead was enough for Ollerton to secure a deserved victory. They now face Sandhurst at home next Wednesday before the league season gets underway on Saturday with an away trip to Easington United.
