Ollerton Secure Win Against Pinxton!

Goals either side of half time by Jamie Charlton and Chris Hewitt respectively gave Ollerton their first win of pre-season against Central Midlands South Division side, Pinxton FC.
Ollerton's previous two games of pre-season had been played against higher league opposition in the form of Shirebrook Town and Rainworth MW and despite playing quite promisingly, Ollerton were defeated in both of the games. However, tonight against opposition from the same level, the game was more up for grabs and thankfully Ollerton were able to seal the victory.
Charlton found the net versus Shirebrook and he opened the scoring tonight shortly before half time. The ball was played to him just outside the area and after falling kindly for him, he swung on the ball before striking the ball neatly across the 'keeper and into the corner of the goal.
Ollerton's second came halfway through the second period. Tom Cooke and Kyle Clarkson worked the ball well between them on the right wing, and after Cooke delivered a teasing ball into the area which Pinxton failed to deal with, Hewitt was on hand to tap home to double his side's advantage.
These proved to be the only two goals of the game but there could have been more. Charlton and Lewis Bingham both had good chances for Ollerton in the first half but failed to find the target whilst Sean Taylor in the Ollerton goal was called upon a few times to deal with Pinxton efforts.
Overall, Ollerton looked the fitter side and deserved the victory on the balance of play. Despite the victory however, Ollerton's management team know there are still plenty of creases to be ironed out before their side are fully ready to travel to Easington United on August the 8th for the opening day of the new season.
