Ollerton won their first game of preseason, beating Handsworth 1-0 thanks to a Craig Gould goal on 65 minutes. The game was a perfect oppurtunity to test new players and also give other players key playing time. Ollerton played well through out the game and dealt with the Handsworth pressure but if it wasn't for a string of world class saves by Fletcher in the second half the score might of been different.

Ollerton undeservedly lost their first game of preseason against Bardon Hill. A poor first half performance let their opponents grab a two goal lead but after making several changes at half time, Ollerton dominated the second half with a string of fine chances. Chris Baugh rattled the cross bar with a thunderous shot but Ollerton grabbed the goal  they deserved when Ryan Meehan whipped in a cross which was deflected into the net by a defender.

Ollerton were beaten by a well organised and fit Shepshed team. Ollerton went 3-0 down thanks two well worked moves aswell as a world class overhead kick by the Shepshed player. However Joseph Meehan grabbed a consolation  taking his goal well. Though it was a bad result, Ollerton will realise they won't play a better side this season so will remain optimistic.

Ollerton lost another pre-season friendly after being beaten 4-1 by Radcliffe. Though the score line suggests a trashing all of their goals came from defensive errors by Ollerton. However, there were some plus points. Will Tomlinson impressed and completed ninety minutes in his first game for the club, Gaz Davies scored on his return to Ollerton, Josh Egginton played well yet again, Tony Buchannan played in his first game of pre-season and Ollerton looked like they were going to draw level until the third Radcliffe goal broke them. Despite another defeat there were enough positives to suggest that with a bit of tweaking Ollerton can threaten next year but they know they will have to be better on Thursday against Carlton.
