20.2.10 Sutton Town AFC 2-3 Ollerton Town
Ollerton reopened the race for the Supreme division title after ending Sutton’s 13 match unbeaten run. Ollerton were very impressive throughout and even after Terry Annable was dismissed for a second book able offence, they dug in and kept their lead intact. The boggy pitch didn’t help the standard of football played in this bad tempered match, but Ollerton won’t mind going into Tuesday’s game against Louth on the back of a big result. Ollerton started the game with Jamie Senior and Richard Guest upfront. Both played for Sutton at the beginning of the season and it was Senior and Guest who came back to haunt their former club. Sutton took the lead through Robert Cam before Senior grabbed two and Guest one to put Ollerton 3-1 ahead. Terry Annable was then sent off before Sutton player-manager Mark Shaw scored a free kick to close the deficit to a single goal. Sutton opened the game the strongest and only a good save from Simon Haynes denied Will Tomlinson also the homeside saw two shots cleared off the line before Ollerton grabbed a foothold in the game. Just as Ollerton were beginning to threaten, Sutton grabbed the opener. A corner kick was flicked on at the front post by Will Tomlinson and his striker partner Robert Cam headed past Simon Haynes in the Ollerton goal. Ollerton kept their chins up and looked to grab an equaliser quickly. They got their wish a few minutes after they conceded. A long ball up field wasn’t dealt with by the Sutton defence and a attempted header back to the goalkeeper lacked power and Jamie Senior ran onto the loose ball and finished coolly past the Sutton keeper. When Ollerton took the lead the goals were almost identical. Another ball over the top of Suttons defence wasn’t dealt with by the Sutton captain who once again tried to knock the ball back to the keeper, and once again Senior took advantage and slotted the ball past the keeper. Ollerton were comfortable and dealing with the threat of Tomlinson and Cam extremely well. However, when Terry Annable tried to win back a ball he miscontrolled, the referee showed him his second yellow card of the game. Sutton applied the pressure on the visitors and tried to take advantage of their man advantage. Nevertheless another former player had a different idea. Richard Guest ran through Sutton’s defence and rounded the goalkeeper to double his sides lead. The Sutton management felt that changes were needed and Manager Mark Shaw brought on two substitute’s aswell as him self to try and rescue the game. Tomlinson was threatening the Ollerton defence but the several efforts he had never really threatened the Ollerton goalkeeper. Sutton did manage to grab a second and it was the Manager Shaw who scored. A free kick was given on the edge of the Ollerton area and with Shaw and Tomlinson amongst three looking to take it, Shaw stepped up and beat Haynes who was unlucky not to save it. The Ollerton management were beginning to get nervous and brought on Alex Wilford to add some strength to the defence. Wilford nearly had a moment to forget as his sliding clearance was inches from going the wrong side of the post. Nonetheless, Ollerton showed real grit and determination and denied Sutton the equaliser. This result could be a really important one in the destination of the league title with Louth, Forest Town, Kirkby and Sutton all still having to face Ollerton at ‘The Lane’.
28.11.09 Ollerton Town 2-2 Newark Town
Newark ,who like Ollerton are challenging for the top places in the Supreme division, let the lead slip twice as Ollerton got a much deserved point and if two defensive errors hadn’t of given the visitors two goals, Ollerton could of left ‘The Lane’ with the win. Matt Roche fired Newark ahead before Jamie Allan slid the sides level. Mark Ellison then restored Newark’s lead before Liam Mason finalised the draw. Ollerton started the game on the front foot and a ball whizzed across the box couldn’t be converted by the Ollerton attacker. These two sides had already met twice this year with Newark winning both games and after a ball over the Ollerton defence, to the right was tucked home by Matt Roche it looked like it could be three in a row. However the lead didn’t last long a swipe by the defender sent the ball up in the air and Richard Guest won the header and the ball fell down to Jamie Allan who’s sliding effort beat the keeper. Newark restored the lead in the opening stage of the second half. An Ollerton clearance hit off the back of the Referee and Mark Ellison was played through, and despite appearing offside, looped the ball over the keeper. Ollerton then saw two Joseph Meehan goals chalked off for offside and a foul however this didn’t comeback to haunt them when Liam Mason’s near post header found the far corner to level the game. Ollerton then had a chance to seal all three points, a ball found Chris Baugh at the far post but his half volley was blocked by the defender.

21.11.09 Nettleham 0-3 Ollerton Town
Guest stings Nettleham
Ollerton returned to winning ways after beating bottom of the league Nettleham, by three goals to nil.
Richard Guest helped himself to a brace while Ricky Chambers also found himself on the score sheet.
After their Vase defeat to Gresley and draw in the league to Westella and Willerby, Ollerton were searching to return to winning ways. Also with next weeks important tie against Newark it was important that ‘the reds’ picked up vital league points.
The first half was a stalemate however Ollerton had plenty of chances to take the lead.
Terry Annable struck off the inside of the post and Joseph Meehan fired wide.
Craig Stanton had tow chances to put his side ahead. Firstly he dinked the ball wide before his shot was cleared off the line by a Nettleham defender.
Just after the interval, the deadlock was broken. A ball up field by Ollerton was chased down and finished by Richard Guest.
Guest then beat the keeper for a second time. A ball into the box was delightfully headed home by Guest. Ryan Meehan came on Stanton and fired over his first chance.
Nettleham then had their best chance of the game. A fizzed ball across the box wasn’t knocked in by a Nettleham attacker.
The scoring was rounded up by Ricky Chambers. Jamie Senior teed up the ball for Chambers who’s blazing shot was fumbled by the goalkeeper and Terry Annable got their before the keeper and held up the ball until Chambers followed it up and fired into the net.

14.11.09 Gresley fc 3-1 Ollerton Town
The Central Midlands football league’s participation in the FA Vase ended for another year after Ollerton town, the sole flag bearers for the league, were knocked out of the competition by Gresley at The Moat Ground on a very wet and very windy Saturday.
This was the furthest Ollerton had ever reached in this competition and yet their opponents were finalists in 1991.
Gresley, a step above from Ollerton in the football pyramid, started the game and finished it in the opening 30 minutes. Two goals from Mickey Lyons and Rob Spencer, on the 11th and 31st minute respectively, gave Ollerton a hard task to get back in the game.
Ollerton did pull a goal back on the 47th minute through Joseph Meehan who’s quick thinking meant his shot caught Goalkeeper Gary Hateley off guards and out of position.
Town failed to progress on the much-needed goal and with Don Gethfield’s side still a goal behind, a very impressive performance by Gresley striker Brian Woodall was rounded off with the 78th minute clincher.
With the weather affecting the game the Ollerton loyalists still made the trip and the official attendance of 181 was by far the biggest crowd Ollerton have played under this season.
The Ollerton fans that did make the trip thought it was going to be one of those days after Mickey Lyons beat Simon Haynes at his near post and even though Joseph Meehan found the top of the netting with a header and Jamie Senior forced a fine save out Hateley the visitors were still behind.
The second goal of the game came just after the half hour mark. After defensive confusion from a corner kick Rob Spencer lashed the ball into the back of net to relax the hosts.
The half time break gave Don Gethfield a chance to lift his side’s chins before the second period and what ever he said certainly worked a treat. Two minutes after the restart an Ollerton header fell to Joseph Meehan who took the chance splendidly beating the out of position keeper.
This should have been the ignition for an Ollerton comeback but the side were struggling to grab a foothold in the game and even with the introduction of Liam Mason and Ryan Meehan, Gresley were still the best side.
Ryan Meehan created Ollerton’s only real chance of the second half, running on to the through ball and attempting to lob it over the keeper but his stretching leg couldn’t direct the ball goalwards.
The third goal by Gresley finally sealed the win with ten minutes to go. Brian Woodall ran at the Ollerton defence and beat Simon Haynes with some style, firing in off the post.
With Ollerton’s Vase run over they now can look back on the financial bonus the run has added and focus on the league and the game against Westella & Willerby at home on Tuesday.
5.12.09 Ollerton Town 4-1 Parramore Sports
Ollerton stretched their unbeaten run, in all competitions to eight games after their first half performance was too much for the visitors.Jamie Senior bagged a brace while Richard Guest notched before Jamie Hardwick sealed the three points with his first goal for the club. Ollerton were three nil up before the break and were in control but when Gary Panting was dismissed for his second booking the Parramore pressure increased but despite a Parramore goal the Hardwick strike sealed the game.
Ollerton opened the scoring when, from a freekick; Jamie Senior side footed the ball past the diving keeper. Richard Guest, who joined Ollerton with Senior from Sutton, doubled Ollerton’s lead. After he was put through, he slid the ball under the keeper who got a touch on the ball on its way through. Joseph Meehan could of finished the game off not long after but the post denied Ollerton a third goal.
Ollerton did however grab their third when Richard Guest was played through and slid the ball past the approaching goalkeeper to Senior who, unmarked finished into the empty net. This gave Ollerton a comfortable first half lead however despite the first 15 minutes being the same as the first half, the game turned on its head after Gary Panting was sent off for his second booking of the game.
This lead to a barrage of Parramore attacks and Simon Haynes produced an incredible double save to keep Ollerton’s clean sheet intact. However from the resulting corner Parramore got their goal. The ball fell kindly for the visiting player who smashed the ball into the net. The game was sealed however when Jamie Hardwick controlled and finished a Ricky Chambers ball to open his account since his move from Clipstone.
11.11.09 Ollerton Town 5-1 Harworth C.I
Ollerton can now look forward to an away tie against Louth Town after demolishing Harworth 5-1. Jamie Senior scored Ollerton's first hattrick of the year and Joseph Meehan and Daryl Hewitt rounded off the scoring. Ahead of Ollertons FA Vase tie against Gresley on Saturday; Ollerton were looking to build up momentum and did so by adding the teams fourth win on the trot.
The opener came from a defensive error after Martyn Gee slipped over letting Jamie Senior run through un-marked and dinking over the keeper.
Senior grabbed his second after he advanced with the ball before finishing past Gary Burns once again.
Lewis Hilton fired against Terry Annable for Harworth before Simon Ward headed the rebound toward goal to see it comfortably caught by James Fletcher.
Craig Stanton would of scored Ollerton's second if the keeper hadn't of recovered brilliantly.
The third however was scored. The strike partnership of Senior and Meehan, (which had scored 18 goals at the time of writing) linked up well and Joseph Meehan struck the ball past the keeper to open up a valley sized gap for Ollerton.
The fourth goal, which sealed the win, also sealed Senior's hattrick. One on one, he beat the keeper and despite the defenders best effort's the ball creeped in to make sure he stole the headlines.
Harworth then pulled a goal back Gregg Fox fired the ball past Fletcher but it was too little to late for the visitors.
The scoring was then complete by Daryl Hewitt. Wayne O'Hares ball bounced up of a defender and Hewitt powered his header past the keeper.
7.11.09 Ollerton Town 3-2 Kinsley Boys
Ollerton went into an important week for the club by making it three wins on the trot. The previous two wins were both hammerings of the opposition. This time however the win wasn’t so comfortable.
Twice ahead, Ollerton squandered the lead before a Gary Panting goal sealed the three points.
If football games lasted 20 minutes this one would go down as a classic. 1-1 after the opening 5 minutes and a selection of attacking football by both sides before Ollerton went ahead going into half time.
Ollerton’s opener was scored by Jamie Senior. Richard Guest clipped the ball to Chris Baugh who whipped a ball across the area and after the ball beat the defence, Jamie Senior controlled and stabbed home. Kinsley’s first goal arrived by a corner kick. The cross came in and the Kinsley defender volleying un-neatly past Haynes. The homes sides advantage was then restored. Richard Guest out muscled the defender and decided to take the shot on however despite the keeper’s best efforts the rebound was slotted in by Craig Stanton in his first game back since rejoining Ollerton.
Ollerton then suffered a blow when Dean Mitchell left the field injured to be replaced by young Scott Rodgers.
Craig Stanton then supplied Ollerton with a great chance. After running through the defence he unselfishly slid the ball to Richard Guest who missed from only a few yards out.
Just before half time, Kinsley had a great chance to level things, Haynes passed an unwanted ball to Buchannan who couldn’t react in time and when Terry Annable attempted to win the ball it bobbled favourably to the Kinsley striker. The striker then showed great pace to get away from the defender but fluffed his lines and fired wide.
Kinsley then had another good chance to test Haynes a pacey cross beat the Ollerton defence but the centre forward thumped a header at goal but it was no match for the cool hands of Haynes.
When the equaliser came, it was the thing needed to relight Ollerton’s fire. Gary Panting slipped over the ball while trying to control and Haynes saved the initial shot but the rebound did beat the Ollerton stopper.
However despite Kinsley’s best efforts Ollerton won the game late on. New Signing Jamie Hardwick sprung a quick free kick and Richard Allan headed back across the goal and Gary Panting was on the scene to win the game for Ollerton
31.10.09 Ollerton Town 4-0 Grantham Rangers
Meehans shoot down Rangers
Ollerton Town recorded their second win and clean sheet in a row as they beat Grantham Rangers 4-0 at ‘The Lane’.
These sides had already met once this season. On that occasion the scores finished 1-1 after an Ollerton side consisting of only four players above the age of 20 but Ollerton fielded a much stronger side on Saturday. Both Meehan brothers started the game for Ollerton and while Joseph Meehan was looking to add to his two goals in the previous game, his brother Ryan was searching for a goal after being frustrated in the last match. It turned out to be a fruitful game for both.
Ollerton and Grantham played out a boring first half with the home side producing not the best of performances but Ollerton still had the lead, Joseph Meehan continued his excellent form this season by beating the Grantham goalkeeper.
Ollerton should have been further in front. Richard Guest stormed through the defence but his shot was hit straight at the keeper
Ryan Meehan fired over the net for Ollerton as Jack Beeby in the Ollerton goal protected his goal from Grantham crosses.
Ollerton then doubled their lead. Ryan Meehan ended his frustration in front of goal as the home side entered the half time interval in a more secure position.
After the half time break it wasn’t long before the three points were made safe. Jamie Senior fed a great ball through and Joseph Meehan ran on and finished beyond the keeper in an ice cold fashion.
Ollerton nearly gave the visitors a way back into the game. Dean Mitchell lost possession but the Grantham defender could only fire over after cutting inside.
Jamie Senior’s curling effort was only inches away from getting his name on the scoresheet. Ollerton brought teenage midfielder’s James Foster and Scott Rodgers in the second half and they both impressed in the Ollerton midfield.
The game was then sewn up as Ryan Meehan was put through and held off the defender before finishing past the stationary keeper.
Gethfield’s men recorded another win and if they keep this form up with the games in hand Ollerton might still have a say come the end of the season.
27.10.09 Ollerton Town fc 5-0 Harworth CI
Ollerton bounced back from their defeat against Pinxton by thrashing Harworth 4-0. Jamie Senior opened the scoring beat the keeper with a free kick from the corner of the area.
Thier lead was then doubled when after a Harworth attack Ollerton broke clear and Daryl Hewitt showed great pace to be set through and finished cooly past the keeper after an impressive Ollerton move.
Jamie Senior fired wide after being put through on his search for his second.
Ollerton were proving too strong at the back for Harworth and the home side looked comfortable.
Ollerton's third goal was scored by Joseph Meehan who tested the defence and keeper all game.
Craig Gould saw his shot saved after coming on for Jamie Senior and Lucan Barker fired over.
Simon Haynes saved his side after saving from only a few yard but Ollerton were still comfortable for all three points.
James Foster secured the win for Ollerton. An Ollerton effort was fumbled out by the keeper and young Foster ran through and fired past the keeper.
Another teenager nearly scored for Ollerton. Lucan Barker's curling effort was only inches wide.
Ollerton finished the scoring in the last ten minutes. Joseph Meehan's shot was tipped away by the keeper but Barker showed a mature head and crossed the ball across the box and Meehan was their to head home his second.
The other Meehan in the Ollerton side was desperately unlucky when in search for his goal. After being put through his initial effort was saved. He then regained possesion of the ball and rounded the keeper but the Harworth stopper recovered and saved despite a sliding effort by Meehan. Both players then got back up and Meehan's third effort was once again saved.
Pinxton Fc 3-2 Ollerton Town fc
Ollerton twice came from behind to level at Pinxton on Saturday but a third goal finally for the home side killed off the opposition. Ollerton have now lost four games this season in the league and need to get a good run going in the next seven games, all at home, to climb towards the summit of the table.
Ollerton started the game under the dominance of Pinxton. Simon Haynes punched a ball clear to the edge of the area and the ball was controlled nicely and volleyed towards goal but the shot was cleared off the line.
Pinxton then had one of their great chances in the first half. Haynes dropped the ball and the home striker somehow couldn’t convert.
The same player then had an even better chance. A ball over the Ollerton defence was chased down; the striker diverted the ball past the advancing Haynes, but only a few yards out with the goal gaping. He hit the post.
Jamie Senior then had Ollerton’s first chance of the game but the keeper was equal to his long ranged effort.
Ollerton created a few crosses that were swung across the area but each time there was nobody in the box to convert.
Ollerton then fell behind. The ball was headed back across goal and the Pinxton midfielder beat the defender to head home.
The visitors then drew the game level. A 50/50 challenge saw Ollerton break and Senior’s shot was saved, followed up by Guest’s who’s effort wormed under the keeper to Ricky Chamber’s who fired into the back of the net.
This levelled the score’s going into half time but Don Gethfield needed words with his side to improve this deflated showing.
Whatever Gethfield said at half time, Ollerton obviously didn’t take any notice as they went behind once again not long after the whistle. Ryan Meehan looked for his goalkeeper with his backpass but it was too short for Haynes and the Pinxton striker, who had missed two great chances before, snatched the ball and rounded Haynes and finished coolly.
Ollerton for the second time in the game levelled, Jamie Senior held up the ball before being fouled in the area but Ollerton played on and Joseph Meehan ran on to the loose ball and buried it into the corner.
However the decisive goal came at around 70 minutes. Ryan Meehan slipped while defending against the Pinxton winger who advanced and rifled a shot past Haynes.
So Ollerton finished the game as the losing side and they will hope their form can pick up ahead of the big game against Gresley in the Vase on the 14th of November.
20.10.09 Ollerton 4-2 Blidworth M.W
Ollerton kicked off their run of home games with a win against local team, Blidworth. With 8 of their next 9 league games at home Ollerton are aiming to pick up some serious points to rise up the table. Former Blidworth player Jamie Senior had the games first chance which he saw saved by the keeper. Ryan Meehan shot over, Darryl Hewitt hit the post and Ricky Chambers volleyed over as Ollerton started the game as the dominate force. Ollerton’s dominance was then rewarded with a goal. Darryl Hewitt’s edge of the box shot beat the keeper and gave them a foothold to go and grab the second, which they not long after. One of the greatest goals scored at ‘The Lane’ was how some fans described it, a flowing move of quick football allowed Jamie Senior to bag against his old club after he finished coolly into the empty net. After the half time break it all started to go wrong for Ollerton. Blidworth pulled a goal back to half the deficit despite suspicions of the goalscorer being offside. Blidworth then drew level. Dodgy decisions by one of the Linesmen were coming almost as quick as the goals and when he pulled back play for Simon Haynes apparently taking a goal kick out of the area, the resulting freekick found the bottom of the net. It didn’t affect the result for long as Ollerton headed directly up the other end of the pitch and a timid Jamie Senior shot somehow beat the keeper to give Senior his second of the game. The instant response by the home side deflated the Blidworth resurgence and they could have doubled their lead if James Foster had headed home from a Senior cross. The contest was then finished when Chamber’s crossed to the far post and Hewitt volleyed home to grab his brace.
13.10.09 Newark Town 1-0 Ollerton Town
Ollerton went into one of the most vital periods in the clubs history, with a defeat in the league cup. Ollerton, midtable in the Supreme division, now have EIGHT home games in arrow to relight their league challenge plus a FA Vase second round tie against Gresley Fc. Ollerton runners up in this competition four seasons ago were facing Newark for the third time this season but unfortunately for the Walesby Lane outfit, three was anything but lucky. In the first attack of the game, Ollerton could have taken the lead. Ryan Meehan latched on to a through ball but his sliding effort was only inches away from the post. The game winning goal then anchored Ollerton chins. Louis Cree beat Chris Baugh to the ball, turned and beat Simon Haynes. Ryan Meehan fired at the Newark stopper’s legs and the side netting, Terry Annable fired wide and a Ricky Chamber’s free kick could only find the wall as Ollerton kept up the pressure. Dean Hankey, Ollerton’s top goal scorer last year, was still looking for his first goal and he couldn’t have been given an easier chance as Ricky Chambers bobbled the ball past the keeper to Hankey who, in front of an empty net, fired wide. Ollerton were the best side throughout the game but were suffering from a lack of lethalness upfront once again. Ollerton’s luck at present was summed up in the last effort of the game. Gavin King, on for Hankey, fired against the keeper and the stumbled in to the path of Ryan Meehan’s effort which was destined for the back of the net.
10.9.09 Basford Fc 1-0 Ollerton Town
OLLERTON were brought down to earth with a bump after they were dumped out of the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup 1-0 at the hands of Basford. Town had entered the tie as favourites after their impressive FA Vase win last weekend, but a 65th minute Lee Carter goal and a silly sending off cost them dear.
Ollerton, a league above their opponents, couldn't break through the tough defence which has guided Basford to the summit of their league. Terry Annable had the first Ollerton effort when his header was cleared off the line and Jamie Senior followed up by weaving around a defender and shooting at the goalkeeper. Senior, the scorer of the winner in Ollerton's cup upset against Bottesford last week, then saw his free kick saved as he looked to make it three goals in three games. Ollerton then nearly conceded after a dangerous cross got the better of the outstretched Haynes and the incoming player couldn't get a fatal touch.
Haynes then saved Ollerton again when he made a double save from two Basford players. Ollerton nearly broke the deadlock early in the second half when Senior and Guest combined well, before Guest rifled his strike against the post. Town then replaced young Lucan Barker with Dean Hankey on his return from suspension and Hankey nearly had an immediate impact.
Ollerton's man of the match Senior linked up play once again and Hankey spun the defender on the six yard box, but his shot was saved by the quick reactions of the Basford goalkeeper. It was a costly miss as Ollerton fell behind just after the hour mark when two Ollerton players went for the same attacker leaving Lee Carter unmarked to bobble the ball into the corner of the net.
Ollerton's hopes of progressing to Meadow Lane once again were left in ruins after Ricky Chambers was sent off for a reckless tackle. After his impressive performance Jamie Senior deserved a goal and he was only centremetres away after he held up the ball before turning and whacking a shot off the bar.
3.10.09 Bottesford Town 0-1 Ollerton Town
Ollerton on cloud 9

Ollerton became the last Central Midlands side in the FA Vase after beating Bottesford Town 1-0 despite finishing the game with 9 men. This is the second time Ollerton have beat a side from the North East Counties in this years competition and in both games, a leagues difference was unobvious. Ollerton should of been ahead early on. Richard Guest was played through and his shot was saved by the Goalkeeper. Once again in the opening minutes the home side nearly conceded. Gary Panting whipped in a left footed cross which beat the flapping Goalkeeper and found Jamie Allan on the far post who's header caught the wind and just went over. Throughout the first half Ollerton were highlighting Bottesford's weaknesses in defence and it didn't look long before the opening goal would arrive. The best chance of the first half belonged to Jamie Allan and Ollerton. The vampire like Bottesford goalkeeper fumbled another cross and this time it landed at the feet of Chris Baugh who slid the ball to the side of the keeper and passed the ball to Allan on the edge of the 6 yard box who's shot bounced out off the leg of a defender. Joseph Meehan had Ollerton's next chance from the edge of the box after Simon Haynes was only tested by Bottesford crosses, which he gobbled up with ease. Ollerton then suffered a blow and the home side were given away back into the game after Dean Mitchell was dismissed for a last man challenge. However the visiting fans were still confident of progressing going into half time. The headline writing goal came just after the Referee restarted for the second half. Richard Guest pressurised James Taylor into his own box, where he gained possesion and slid the ball across the box, past the advancing keeper to Jamie Senior who couldn't believe his luck at being infront of an open goal and after taking a touch he fired the ball into the back of the net. After the goal Ollerton looked unconcerned at the small threat of the homeside. Bottesford then had their best chance of the game. A freekick found the far post and Simon Haynes saved the header well but the ball bounced out to the edge of the box and after the following shot, Liam Mason threw himself infront of the shot and got the ball stuck between his legs and Haynes picked up cooly. Ollerton then set themselves up for a nervy final ten minutes. Terry Annable saw red for an alleged off the ball incident. For the last part of the game Bottesford threatened with crosses but Simon Haynes protected his goal excellently and Ollerton held out for the win to spark joyous celebrations from the visitors.
19.9.09 Calverton MW 0-2 Ollerton

Senior played a quick one-two with Panting but then shot wide.
Ollerton then took the lead. Gary Panting was brought down in the area and Ricky Chambers converted the penalty.

8.9.09 Grantham Rangers 1-1 Ollerton Town
A young Ollerton Town side could only leave Grantham with a point on Tuesday Night. With Many suspensions and injuries Don Gethfield was forced to field a side mostly made up of Under 19's and after his winning goal on Saturday, Lucan Barker found himself in the starting line up.
Jack Whyley started the chances off for Grantham his timid shot was saved by James Fletcher.
Lucan Barker had his first chance but the keeper got the better of his shot.

Seb Firman followed up Niels effort with a far post header that travelled over the bar.
Ollerton then gave Grantham a way back into the game. Alex Wilford gave away a penalty and Jamie Guoony Halls cooly finished the spot kick.
That Goal gave Ollerton a sense of urgency but despite thier best efforts the side, consisting of only four players over 20, couldn't retake the lead.
5.9.09 Ollerton Town 1-0 Barton Town Old Boys
Lord Lucan returns at ‘The Lane’

“Super Ollerton send Barton packing”. Those are the words of Central Midlands League Chairman Frank Harwood. However, despite Ollerton’s awesome performance all the headlines were stolen this weekend by 16 year old Lucan Barker who headed home a 61st minute winner for the Nottinghamshire side in their first FA Vase game at home for several decades to seal a tie versus fellow Supreme side Calverton MW.
Ollerton finished their impressive week with not just their first home game in the Vase but it was also Ollerton’s first home game this season and with the visitors being a league ahead of the home side, confidence was high amongst the travelling pack but Barker’s header ended all hopes of the North Lincolnshire based side reaching Wembley.
Ollerton, without suspended Dean Hankey and the injured Ricky Chambers, rest their striking hopes in new signing Jamie Senior and young Lucan Barker but both highlighted the gap between the Central Midlands and the Northern Counties league is not as large as some may suspect.
The score could have been a lot different if Simon Haynes didn’t brilliantly save a shot in the first attack of the match.
Jam Meehan headed over as Senior’s hold up ability and Barker’s lighting pace caused Barton’s defence a bunch of problems.
On the other hand Simon Haynes had to be on his usual top catching form to blunt the ends of Barton’s attacks.

Ollerton made another two substitutions before the final whistle and all the Ollerton players left the pitch with their heads held high knowing that Wembley on the 9th of May is still a possibility.
